Get Templates
Retrieve all WhatsApp templates associated with your business account. Templates with the same name but different language translations are grouped together as a template group. Use this endpoint to check approval status after submitting a new template, to see the category Meta currently applies to each one, and to find the campaigns that send it.

Endpoint

Request body

The body is optional β€” send {} to list every template. include_campaigns adds a field, it does not filter: the same templates are returned either way, with or without their campaigns. There is no way to narrow this endpoint to a subset of templates.
include_campaigns costs one lookup per template, so it is capped: a business with more than 500 templates receives an error rather than a partial list. Every other field in the body is accepted for backwards compatibility but does not filter the response.

Response

Returns a list of template groups under entity.templateGroups. Each group contains one or more language variants.
Meta reclassifies per language, and a template group holds one template per language. When they disagree, the group reports MARKETING and the exact per-language value stays on templates[].externalTemplate.whatsapp.category.
campaigns lists campaigns built on Connectly’s current campaign flows. A template used only by an older campaign returns no campaigns. An empty list means no campaign was found β€” never that the lookup failed, which returns an error instead.

Example

The externalTemplate.whatsapp object contains the raw template data as returned directly by Meta, alongside Connectly’s own representation in templateComponents. Use templateComponents for the Connectly-native format.
